It’s hard to believe the Crown, Codsall only reopened a short 3 weeks ago!
For those of you that haven’t managed to make it down yet, take a look at some of our snapshots of our most recent Joule’s Brewery development.
Our design and development team have worked extremely hard to bring something new and exciting to Codsall and by Joule’s we have! Led by Joule’s Project Manager, Louke Glover, our dedicated build team have worked together to sculpt something very special with details hidden in every corner. Our team doesn’t work with any designers, but rather are the designers themselves and all work together to create fantastic Brewery Taps we know you’ll love. Pubs are the honeypot of our community and we’re passionate about creating Joule’s pubs at the heart of them. Our goal was to enhance our Codsall site and create an amazing Joule’s Taphouse offer, that’s what’s most important to us.
The Crown now features a refurbished bar, showcasing a large copper tank and historic Joule’s iron signage creating the perfect back drop for our beer sweet shop. Always available on draught, our iconic cask ales; Joule’s Pale Ale, Pure Blonde and Slumbering Monk flanked by our ever-changing seasonal creations including our Market Drayton brewer’s experimental limited-edition brews, Batch Beer. Taking the helm of our cold beer offer is our English Craft Lager Green Monkey, which we are currently celebrating its monumental 10-year anniversary on the bar, accompanied by our All-Day Session IPA, Stone Ale, and a rotating seasonal cold beer – summer pub launches mean our Tropical IPA Hawaii Five Joe is taking pride place on the bar, the perfect mash up of mango and pineapple!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Joule’s development without detailed pieces that both raise an eyebrow and a smile; And what could have been bigger this year than the King’s Coronation, it seemed only fitting that in celebration of The Crown’s new reign partnering with Medicine Bakery, we carefully tweaked an archive Joule’s Coronation advert from 1937 to reflect the start of the Crown, Codsall’s next exciting chapter.
Around the corner, and as a nod to our seasonal India Pale Ale, Calcutta 1757, we have added to the design of the well-known ‘Maritime Room’ filled with nautical memorabilia, from miniature ships to a genuine diver’s mask. Look out for the far wall along the booth seating areas, which takes you on the journey of Calcutta 1757, a Joule’s craft beer without compromise.
The library function room is now home to its very own bar, this statement addition is a beer lover’s dream and was carefully included to ensure your private events are fully stocked and catered for whatever the occasion and it hosts a cosy and inviting social space that you can fully transform into your own.
From inside to out, this development is one we are extremely proud of. The team have created a bespoke Beer Courtyard, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town, with an addition of another one of our unique Green Monkey beer sheds. Not only is Green Monkey brewed to the German purity laws of Reinhotsgebot, but our Green Monkey beer shed is inspired by German Bierkellers and is perfect for alfresco dining, live music and community events. The extended outside courtyard also features a plethora of seating from standing barrels to benches, all centred around our signposted Lamppost sharing with you just how close you are to other nearby Joule’s Taphouses, you’re never too far away from a pint of Joule’s!
We are extremely excited to have partnered with Medicine Bakery, an already established brand within Codsall, who are now bringing their mouth-watering food offer and warm and friendly hospitality to the Crown.
Join us in raising a glass to another successful Joule’s pub development, and one we know we will all be able to enjoy for time to come. Cheers!
