Stay up to date with our progress at the Stag

WEEK 1

Big changes are happening at The Stag! 🔨 We’re digging deep (literally!) to get everything ready for our new extension.

Next up, we’re building the framework for the bar and seating – the first steps in bringing the space to life. Our electricians and plumbers will be arriving soon to sort out all the behind-the-scenes bits. We’ll be digging away for the next 3 weeks, so stay tuned for more to come as we’ll be sharing a Stag update every Thursday!

WEEK 2

We find all sorts left behind during our development projects, rubbish, boxes, maybe the odd beer left if our build team are lucky! But when we dig further down, is when all the interesting bits are left behind, during the dig last week we found an old Singer Sewing Machine Oil bottle which after a bit of digging – pardon the pun – is over 130 years old!

WEEK 3

The concrete footings are in, and now you can really start to feel the scale of the project! For those unfamiliar, concrete footings are crucial foundations that support the structure above, ensuring stability and strength.

These footings outline where the Brewer’s Hall will be, giving you a first glimpse of the exciting new space taking shape.

WEEK 4

This week marks a big milestone – we’re getting out of the ground! The team has been hard at work laying the MOT and stone, followed by a roller flatten to get everything prepped. Next steps: polythene sheet, insulation, more polythene, and finally pouring the concrete to finish the floor level.
The weather hasn’t slowed us down, Here’s the lads enjoying a well-deserved pint, standing where the museum will eventually be!

WEEK 5

We’ve been busy sharing all the updates on our outdoor works lately, but now that the concrete’s been poured, it’s time to take a peek inside – especially at the bar! 🍺

We’ve crafted what might just be Shropshire’s biggest beer barrel yet. The entire bar has been repurposed from old barrels to create one giant centerpiece – well… what else would we have for our brewery tap? Have a look at the team putting it together!

Stay tuned for more updates next week!
