From Bottleshop to Brewery Tap
The Brewery’s team of dedicated craftsmen have carefully restored the Boldmere Tap to encapsulate everything that is great about the English pub. The Boldmere used to be a Bottle Shop and you will see it’s lovely old wares still on display, including old bottles from V Cope & Sons originally based in the Brewery’s home town of Market Drayton and on display, what is thought to be the very last remaining bottle of ‘Joule’s Port’ filled in 1957.
The Tap’s lobby off Boldmere road is a particularly special feature, Edwardian in style it has been fitted with bespoke stained glass painted by renowned and local craftsman Paul Georgiou. The stained glass depicts a thriving beehive, to symbolise our Brewery Tap as the centre and honeypot of the community.
There is a large traditional bar, clad in beautiful reclaimed oak, where you can find a darts board and a piano on which you are welcome to tinkle on the ivories (but only if you know how…), and also a bar in which you have the opportunity to bring along your well-behaved dog.
On route to the loos you will be forgiven for thinking you’re walking down the platform and if you fancy a chinwag, there is a meeting room is cleverly tucked away affectionately known as the ‘railway carriage’.
Outside you will find a great front beer garden adorned with hanging baskets, and just around the corner to the rear, the pub has its own car park.
Always on Tap, Joule’s Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Pure Blonde and our English craft lager Green Monkey, alongside our rotating seasonal ale and cold craft beer. All brewed in Market Drayton with pure Shropshire mineral water.
Don’t miss, the Monday night quiz and Saturday night live music at the Boldmere…
