Home to the largest bespoke stained-glass project we have ever commissioned
The Crown is particularly special in the Joule’s Brewery Tap estate because it’s the largest bespoke stained-glass project we have ever commissioned. Proudly set on the town square in Codsall, the Crown is the oldest pub in the area and has been licensed for over 180 years.
The Crown, doesn’t disappoint, having been carefully restored in 2016 bringing back hidden treasures, exposing old beams and threading the Joule’s style and story throughout, adding a touch of grand Edwardian Gentleman’s club. With the restoration of the rear function room to a relaxed, library atmosphere, it is the perfect place to enjoy proper pub food or alternatively hire out for your own party, meeting or conference.
The central bar is the hub of the pub with a lovely open fire to enjoy with great rooms off perfect for smaller gatherings, the Admirals room and the Vaults are ideal spots for enjoying a pint and the paper, a family meal or a private chat.
The Crown sponsors the local cricket team Codsall C.C which is only a 5-minute walk or a 2 minute trot away from the pub at the village green. If you’re interested in signing up, just pop into the bar and have a chat.
If the weather suits, you’re spoilt for choice as there is a smart beer terrace to the front and a more concealed terrace at the back. Super easy parking can be found at the rear of the pub.
Always on Tap, Joule’s Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Pure Blonde and our English craft lager Green Monkey, alongside our rotating seasonal ale and cold craft beer. All brewed in Market Drayton with pure Shropshire mineral water.
Don’t miss their fantastic Sunday lunch or the chance to treat your four-legged friend as the Crown has a ‘doggie treats’ menu.
