With a slim raised beer terrace, the Cross Keys is the perfect spot to enjoy a pint of Joule’s in the fresh air
The Cross Keys our beautiful Chester Tap, can be found just inside the Roman city walls and just uphill from the river. A great spot for locals and visitors to find on the corner of Lower Bridge Street & Duke Street, spoilt for real ale choice with Spitting Feathers Brewery Tap close by.
The Cross Keys is a small single-roomed Victorian gem, a charming tavern. The pub has a real quality feel within, with twinkling stained glass windows, leather seats, oak floors and a Joule’s hallmark finish which we think you will love.
When the Cross Keys was restored we also created the perfect place for hire, ‘The Slaughtered Lamb’ designed to be your own private pub, a pub inside a pub. Perfect for that special party or family gathering but also an ideal meeting room for clubs, societies and business meetings.
With a slim raised beer terrace outside to the front, the Cross Keys is the perfect spot to enjoy a pint of Joule’s in the fresh air.
Always on Tap, Joule’s Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Pure Blonde and our English craft lager Green Monkey, alongside our rotating seasonal ale and cold craft beer. All are brewed in Market Drayton with pure Shropshire mineral water.
Street parking is available and the Grosvenor multi-storey car park is only a 5-minute walk away.
Don’t miss: Their weekly quiz every Thursday as well as the famous Cross Key’s Sunday lunch available from 12noon ‘til gone.
Did you know The Cross Keys has been the home of Chester’s Irish Trad Music for over 8 years? You can see them in the pub every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
