Tori Beardmore’s journey to becoming the landlady of the Henry Tudor Inn is rooted in her love for Shrewsbury and its vibrant pub scene. A local through and through, Tori has always had a strong connection to the town she calls home.
Her path to joining Joule’s Brewery began when the company took over the White Horse in Shrewsbury, where she was working part-time. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with the industry. “From that moment on, I was hooked,” she says. “I loved creating a culture within the pub and the community.” Within months, Tori was managing the pub under Joule’s tenant George Holding, and it quickly became clear that she’d found her calling.
When Joule’s acquired the historic Henry Tudor Inn in 2022, Tori knew it was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up. Although the timing was tricky—she was also helping with the White Horse’s refurbishment—she embraced the challenge. “I’ve always believed things happen at the right time,” she explains. Thanks to her hard work and the support of George and her team, the transition was a success.
“Our teams are what make us whole,” she says.
The Henry Tudor Inn, a Grade 1 listed building, holds a special place in Tori’s heart. She fondly recalls family gatherings, Sunday roasts, and many festive evenings spent there with friends.
“Every Christmas, all my friends would come back home to Shrewsbury, and it would be our Christmas Eve drinking spot for over eight years,” Tori shares. “The building speaks for itself, and we’re proud to work in such a historic space, sharing its stories with everyone who visits.”
For Tori, running a pub is about much more than serving drinks. She loves the creativity of planning events, developing her team, and finding ways to keep improving. While the industry can be demanding, she believes that dedication and a focus on growth make all the difference.
Tori’s passion and commitment shine through in everything she does. As she continues to lead the Henry Tudor Inn, she’s not just managing a pub—she’s helping to preserve its legacy while making it a welcoming space for the community to enjoy for years to come.
