We are excited to announce that Ruth and Ike, will soon be stepping in as landlady and landlord of the historic Butchers Arms in Forsbrook.
Some of you may recognise Ruth as our Operations and Marketing Assistant, for the past year, Ruth has been an integral part of our operations team, providing administrative support and assisting with everything from beer launches to events, training, and point-of-sale materials. Her background as a brewer made her a perfect fit for our team. However, it was during a few recent shifts at the Butchers Arms—helping out while we were recruiting—that Ruth found her true passion for the pub, sparking her desire to take on this new challenge. She loved the pub so much that she decided to apply to take it on, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what she achieves.
Ruth and Ike, are looking forward to putting their own stamp on the Butchers Arms. They have already begun brainstorming fresh ideas, from new events to enhancing the pub’s atmosphere, and they can’t wait to share them with the local community in the coming months. Ruth and Ike’s vision is to keep the historic charm of the Butchers while adding their own touch. She and Ike are both passionate about the pub’s lively community and are excited to see it thrive under their care.
The Butchers Arms, part of the Joule’s estate since 2014, underwent a major renovation that doubled its size while preserving its traditional character, with beautiful stained-glass panels, oak flooring, and wooden panelling. The pub features a spacious bar with the full Joule’s beer line-up, a dining area, cosy nooks, and a snug with an open fire. The beer terrace and private meeting room add to its appeal as a vibrant local hub. Known for its live music and quiz nights, the Butchers Arms has long been a gathering place for the community.
Ruth and Ike are eager to embrace this opportunity and are excited to shape the future of the Butchers Arms. We look forward to seeing their ideas unfold and to the continued success of this historic pub under their care.
