Wonderful news. We are delighted that Stone Town Council will be progressing a project to convert the old fire station into a heritage centre and coffee bar. The building will house a number of exhibitions to suit various local interest groups, schools we hope will also take an interest, as well as clubs and social groups. Really fantastic news, we are absolutely thrilled to see that this is now happening on the Crown Wharf site.
Joule’s Brewery bought the building for £150,000 from Stafford Brough Council and will be providing the building as the main sponsor, for just £1, in perpetuity.
Chairman Rob Kenney is now seeking interest from anyone who would like to be involved in the design of the centre, we hope folk to get involved and help us all to make this a fabulous addition to the town. Joule’s will support with our in house build team as much as we can.
