Following a very festive and successful Christmas Fun Run around Market Drayton last year, we are delighted to announce that Joule's Turkey Trot is back for a second year.  The 5k event will take place on Sunday 14th December 2014 from 10.30am, with the run beginning at 11am.

The 5km (3.1miles) tro can be run, walked or indeed trotted through the historic Shropshire town, leaving the Brewery at 11am.  Working hard over the past months with Mark Stevens from Fix Auto Market Drayton, Joule's Brewery will be hosting the event, with the run both starting and finishing at The Red Lion Brewery Tap.

Participants are encouraged to dress inn festive attire for the occasion, with a special Joule's prize being offered to the best fancily dressed runner.  Local businesses, Shepleys Butchers & Fix Auto Market Drayton are very kindly donating 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for both male and female runners in addition to our own 36-pint box of beer for the best fancy attire.  We will also be handing out free beer vouchers for all runners to be enjoyed post-trot.

The Red Lion have arranged an afternoon of festive treats too, with Christmas Turkey baps and a Sunday carvery being available throughout the afternoon from 12 midday, with live music being provided by the wonderful Heidi Browne from 1pm.  Complimentary mince pies will also be available at the bar for supporters and runners alike to enjoy.

All proceeds of the event are to be donated to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital's work for those with Childhood Leukaemia, and entry forms can be found at The Red Lion and Fix Auto Market Drayton in the lead up to the event - entry on the day may be possible, but places are limited and fill up quickly.
