The Towns’ annual cricket festival, also known as the JOULE’S FESTIVAL OF CRICKET is taking place this Sunday 22nd June from 10am at the Market Drayton Community Amateur Sports Club on Betton Road, Market Drayton and is set to be a hot and exciting knock out tournament.
The Brewery is the main sponsor of the Towns’ Cricket Club. Jim Connolly, Club Secretary commented, the day provides a great opportunity to celebrate the partnership Joule’s and MDCC have formed over the last few years and a great occasion for Joule’s to showcase their latest seasonal, Triskel Yeoman Summer Ale. We have a great relationship with the Brewery and the Joule’s Ales has proven extremely popular with the clubhouse members’.
Joule’s Brewery & MDCC signed a six year sponsorship agreement in 2010, when the Brewery first opened, and Joule’s were heavily involved in the re-fit and installation of the new bar, and provided the Cricket Club with interesting Joule’s cricket memorabilia. Cricket has been played at the ground on Betton Road for 130 years and is the centre of the clubs activities. Trudie from Joule’s commented. ‘The club has supported the Red Lion, the Brewery Tap for many years, so to be the clubs main sponsor is a natural fit for the Brewery and reflects our marketing strategy; supporting the town, its community and events. The Brewery sponsored the Market Drayton 10k in May, giving a free beer voucher to all runners. The vouchers went down so well, so on Sunday we will be giving out free Triskel Yeoman beer vouchers to players and spectators.
Commencing at 10am, the day comprises of a Super 8’s tournament supported by local teams. Joule’s Brewery will be providing a team, competing with MDHC, The Lord Hill, Meadons Insurance, MDRC, MD Golf Club, Grove School Teachers & The Shropshire Disability Team.
The Joule’s festival of Cricket will be an all day event with bbq, refreshments and bouncy castle and is set to be a great family day out. And of course, the day will be complimented with Joule’s ales, available at the Joule’s outdoor bar and the club house. The three core brews Blonde, Pale Ale & Monk will be available on the day and in addition the new limited edition, summer seasonal, Triskel Yeoman will also be available.
The new seasonal Ale launches across the Joule’s heartland officially on Wednesday 18th June, with a celebration of summer. The Joules’ Tap houses are busy preparing their own celebration of summer with a BBQ, using the finest pork sausages from the Joule’s Happy Pig herd at Fordhall Farm and outdoor live music. It’s set to be a great evening kicking off at 6.30pm, with vouchers available at all Joule’s Tap Houses for a free ½ pint taster and a great’ British’ Fat Banger Hot dog.
